KAST hires ex-SEC adviser to lead policy and communications

KAST has hired a former SEC adviser to head policy and communications, overseeing regulatory strategy, stakeholder outreach and public messaging for its stablecoin products.
KAST announced it has hired a former Securities and Exchange Commission adviser to serve as head of policy and communications for its stablecoin business.
The role will direct the company’s engagement with policymakers, shape messaging to customers and markets, and coordinate communications tied to compliance and product development as stablecoin rules evolve.
The new hire joins KAST from a position at the SEC where the adviser worked on regulatory issues related to market structure and digital assets. At KAST, responsibilities include developing regulatory strategy, conducting outreach with federal and state authorities, and explaining the company’s approach to custody, reserves and consumer protections.
KAST said the role will also align work across product, legal and risk teams to ensure policy shifts are reflected in operational processes for its token products.
Lawmakers and financial regulators are continuing discussions about how to classify and supervise stablecoins. Policy debates have centered on reserve backing, redemption rights, disclosure standards and the potential for systemic risks as dollar-pegged tokens gain wider use.
Industry participants have increased hiring of former regulators and compliance specialists to respond to changing expectations and to engage with rulemakers.
At KAST, the policy and communications lead will work with legal and compliance teams to prepare for potential regulatory inquiries, represent the firm in industry working groups, and provide technical information to regulators about the company’s controls and technology.
Company executives framed the appointment as part of efforts to strengthen governance and oversight while scaling KAST’s stablecoin services. The position will support regulatory filings, public papers and statements, and advise product teams on rules that could affect token design and distribution.
