Kalshi sells prediction-market data to major network

Kalshi sold real-time prediction-market data to a national broadcast network, giving the outlet access to market-based probability forecasts as the company expands beyond trading.

Kalshi agreed recently to sell real-time prediction-market data to a national broadcast network, giving the outlet access to probability estimates generated on Kalshi’s trading platform. The data includes contract prices and trading activity that reflect traders’ assessments of event outcomes.

Under the terms of the agreement, the network will receive live feeds of Kalshi’s market signals for use in televised coverage and on digital services. Editors can show changing probabilities during news segments or use the data alongside reporting on political contests, policy decisions and other time-sensitive events.

Kalshi operates an exchange where users buy and sell contracts tied to the outcomes of specific events. Each contract’s price represents the market’s implied probability that the stated outcome will occur. Prices update as traders place orders, producing near real-time changes in implied chances.

The data product Kalshi sells packages pricing streams, trade volume and measures of order-book activity. Those elements let users display both headline probabilities and short-term market movements when new information arrives or sentiment shifts.

Kalshi said the licensing agreement is part of a plan to generate revenue beyond fees collected from traders. Selling market data creates a revenue source that does not depend directly on trading volume and lets the company offer continuous market-based forecasts to third parties.

Prediction-market feeds differ from polling and model-based forecasts because they update as participants trade and respond to developments. Newsrooms that use the feeds must decide how to contextualize probabilities and present short-term fluctuations to their audiences.

Kalshi will continue to operate its exchange while expanding sales of data and analytics tied to the information embedded in traded prices. The company did not disclose financial terms or the exact start date of the data feeds in the agreement.
