Instagram tests clickable caption links for $10 Meta Verified

Instagram is piloting clickable links in post captions for a subset of Meta Verified subscribers, with a cap of 10 links per month, Meta confirmed. Meta Verified is priced at $10 a month.
The test lets paying users place a tappable URL directly in the caption of a grid post. The option surfaced publicly on Thursday when blogger Andrew Valeria shared a screen recording on Threads that showed a Substack link at the bottom of a feed post opening a newsletter welcome page.
An in-app pop-up presented during the test stated: “Meta allows 10 clickable links within an Instagram post per month,” according to Valeria.
Meta acknowledged the experiment with a subset of users and declined to share details on timing, regions or how the monthly limit is enforced. The company has not indicated whether the test will expand or what criteria determine access.
For now, the option appears only for participating Meta Verified accounts, and links are visible to their followers in the Instagram feed.
Instagram has long blocked live links in captions, leaving accounts to funnel traffic through a single bio link or third-party link-in-bio tools. In April 2023, the platform raised the number of profile links from one to five.
Meta has yet to clarify whether caption links in the test will face ad-policy restrictions, safety checks, or link screening. Questions also remain over eligibility for business accounts outside Meta Verified, the effect of reaching the 10-link cap, and whether unused allocations carry over.
