Telegram adds AI agents to transfer, swap and stake tokens
Telegram has added AI-driven trading agents inside its app that can transfer tokens, execute swaps and stake assets when users authorize actions through connected or in-app wallets.
Telegram has added AI-powered trading agents that run inside the messaging app and can transfer tokens, perform swaps and stake assets on behalf of users when authorized. The agents accept natural-language instructions in chats and bot interfaces and translate them into on-chain transactions once the user signs.
The agents support three core actions: token transfers between wallets, swaps between cryptocurrencies using on-chain or integrated exchange mechanisms, and staking to participate in proof-of-stake networks or yield programs. Users send plain-language commands to an agent, which can also handle multi-step tasks such as converting one token and then staking the proceeds.
Each transaction requires explicit user approval before it is broadcast to a blockchain. The interface displays transaction details and fees and uses connected wallets or in-app confirmations to sign operations. Users must connect a compatible wallet or use Telegram’s wallet features to grant permission for agents to act.
Telegram said the feature is meant to automate routine crypto tasks by using conversational prompts instead of manual order-entry screens. The agents are available inside chats and channels; users can create or invite agents to assist with portfolio tasks.
Security and user control are included in the rollout. Telegram’s flow shows transaction summaries and requests wallet-level approval. When users employ non-custodial wallets, private keys remain under their control. The app provides settings to limit an agent’s permissions and to revoke access at any time.
Telegram has previously added wallet functions and links to the TON ecosystem. Industry observers have noted that automating on-chain operations with conversational agents raises questions about security practices and regulatory oversight for automated transaction tools.
