Standard Chartered sets $60 target for Morpho token by 2030

Standard Chartered began coverage of Morpho and set a $60 target for the MORPHO token by end-2030, forecasting it will outperform bitcoin and ether under the bank’s assumptions.

Standard Chartered initiated coverage of Morpho on Wednesday and set a $60 price target for the MORPHO token by the end of 2030. The bank published a year-by-year path that forecasts MORPHO at $3.50 in 2026, $11 in 2027, $22 in 2028, $40 in 2029 and $60 by end-2030.

The forecast is anchored on expected growth in decentralized finance adoption and the expansion of vault-based asset management infrastructure. The firm projects a roughly 37-fold increase in assets deployed across DeFi by 2030. Geoff Kendrick, the bank's Global Head of Digital Assets Research, wrote: “We are bullish on the outlook for Morpho, the second-largest decentralised finance (DeFi) lending protocol after Aave.”

Standard Chartered's analysis noted current on-chain activity for Morpho. Morpho Markets holds about $5.5 billion in deposits, while Morpho Vaults account for roughly $4.3 billion. The report identifies vault curators such as Steakhouse Financial, which manages nearly $2 billion, as a channel for allocating assets on-chain.

Achieving the bank's price path would depend on vaults attracting capital linked to traditional finance, supported by custody and distribution integrations with firms including Fireblocks, Anchorage and Taurus.

On protocol economics, Morpho operates at a 0% take rate, returning lending income to depositors through vault structures. Standard Chartered contrasted that with other major protocols that have introduced protocol fee mechanisms.

On the market, MORPHO traded above $2 on Wednesday, up about 13% over the previous 24 hours. Using that trading level, the $60 target implies roughly a 2,787% increase.

Standard Chartered framed its projections within the bank's digital assets return assumptions and included Morpho among the DeFi platforms it projects could capture sizeable inflows if institutional custody and distribution integrations deepen and if on-chain vaults attract traditional asset managers.
