Oobit issues Visa Agent Cards to let AI bots spend USDT

Oobit rolled out virtual Visa Agent Cards letting AI agents spend USDT online without fiat conversion; cards have one-per-agent limits, caps and logged transactions.

Oobit announced on Thursday the launch of virtual Visa Agent Cards that let autonomous software agents spend directly from a USDT wallet for online purchases wherever Visa is accepted, without converting funds to fiat.

Each agent is issued a single virtual card. Companies can apply category-level restrictions, per-transaction limits and per-merchant caps; Oobit says those limits cannot be overridden. Every attempt to charge a card, whether approved or declined, is logged and added to an automated expense report with a human-readable reason for the record.

The cards include payment-processing integrations that allow agents to handle subscription billing and vendor payouts through Stripe and other payment platforms. Oobit describes the product as designed to let agents handle routine payments and billing tasks while keeping corporate controls in place.

Amram Adar, Oobit’s CEO, called the liability problem for autonomous payments “unsolved” and described Agent Cards as an early effort to give autonomous financial operations more independence while keeping control with finance teams.

Several exchanges and platform providers have released tools that give AI services wallet access and payment capabilities. Earlier this year Oobit added wallet transfers to any bank account worldwide.

Tether is Oobit’s largest shareholder and led the startup’s $25 million Series A in 2024. Tether also holds a majority stake in VCI Global, a significant holder of OOB tokens.

Oobit presents Agent Cards as a tool to allow software agents to transact under predefined corporate rules while keeping a record of each transaction.
