Ondo Perps accepts tokenized stocks as collateral

Ondo Finance accepts tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs as collateral for perpetual swaps on Ondo Perps, available to pre-alpha users and traders outside the U.S., Panama and other restricted jurisdictions.

Ondo Finance now accepts tokenized U.S. stocks and ETFs as collateral for perpetual futures on its Ondo Perps platform. The feature is open to pre-alpha users and to traders located outside the U.S., Panama and other prohibited jurisdictions. Trading on the platform is permissionless and available 24/7 for eligible users.

Ondo Perps allows trading of perpetual futures on U.S. stocks, ETFs and commodities with up to 20x leverage. The platform is designed to provide liquidity and capital efficiency similar to traditional derivatives venues while enabling continuous trading and onchain risk management on a single platform.

The company is offering incentives for early activity, including $150,000 in USDC to be distributed during the first week of trading to encourage liquidity and platform testing.

Last year Ondo introduced 24/7 onchain access to more than 100 U.S. stocks and ETFs for eligible investors in the Asia-Pacific, European, African and Latin American regions. In the days before this announcement Ondo added tokenized versions of BlackRock's iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron Technology (MU) shares under a third-party custodial framework cited by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in January.

Ian De Bode, Ondo Finance president, described the investing experience as “far better than what a traditional brokerage account can offer,” noting onchain access and continuous trading for users in permitted jurisdictions.

Rivals in the market include Ostium and Hyperliquid. Ondo combines tokenized-stock collateral, perpetual swaps and round-the-clock trading for traders and investors in regions where onchain securities are allowed.
