MoonPay acquires YC-backed Glide in all-equity deal
MoonPay acquired Y Combinator-backed Glide in an all-equity deal; Glide’s tech enables apps to accept deposits across 100+ tokens and 30 blockchains without manual bridging.
MoonPay completed an all-equity acquisition of Glide, a startup that built cross-chain crypto deposit technology. Discussions began late last year and the transaction has closed, Glide co-founder and CEO Tushar Soni confirmed, declining to disclose the financial terms.
Glide was founded in 2023 by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, who previously worked together on the team that built Robinhood's crypto wallet. The startup is backed by Y Combinator and Titan Fund; the founders did not disclose how much capital Glide has raised to date.
Glide's system allows applications to accept deposits from any token, wallet, exchange or card and automatically routes funds along the fastest, lowest-cost path across blockchains. Deposits are handled through self-custodial smart contracts so users retain control of their assets and transactions remain verifiable on-chain. MoonPay reported the platform processes more than $100 million in annualized transaction volume and supports deposits across more than 100 tokens and 30 blockchains.
MoonPay plans to integrate Glide into MoonPay Deposits, its existing deposits product used by apps including Wallet in Telegram, Moonshot and Paysafe. Glide served more than 50 business customers prior to the acquisition; those customers will now be supported by MoonPay. All four Glide employees, including the two co-founders, are joining MoonPay. The companies handled corporate development for the transaction internally without external legal or financial advisers.
In a statement, Soni wrote: “We built Glide so users could fund their wallets quickly with the tokens they already have and for apps to streamline their onboarding. Joining MoonPay lets us combine our deposits product with everything else that MoonPay has to offer like ramps, virtual accounts, and swaps, and bring that to the largest apps in the world.”
The acquisition is MoonPay's sixth announced in 2026, following purchases of Sodot, Decent, DFlow (which became MoonPay Trade), Entendre and Dawn Labs. Earlier purchases include Nightshift (renamed Otherlife), Helio (renamed MoonPay Commerce), Iron and Meso.
MoonPay's investors include Tiger Global Management, Coatue, Justin Bieber and Paris Hilton. The company raised a $555 million Series A equity round in 2021 at a $3.4 billion valuation and last year secured a $200 million revolving credit line from Galaxy. MoonPay reported it finished 2024 cash-flow positive and profitable after 112% year-over-year net revenue growth.
