Strategy purchased 3,273 bitcoin for $255 million, raising its total holdings to 818,334 BTC, the company disclosed in a public filing. The acquisition implies an average price of roughly $77,910 per bitcoin. Before the purchase MicroStrategy held 815,061 BTC.

The company began acquiring bitcoin in August 2020 and has reported purchases regularly. Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) has funded purchases with cash reserves, convertible notes and sales of common stock.

The latest addition increases Strategy's Иitcoin position by about 0.4 percent. The firm reports its bitcoin balance after each transaction.

The purchase comes amid continued price volatility in bitcoin markets.

Strategy is a Virginia-based enterprise software company led by CEO Michael Saylor. Since 2020 the firm has identified bitcoin as a primary treasury reserve asset and has steadily increased its holdings.
