Haun Ventures Raises $1 Billion for Crypto, AI and Alternatives

Haun Ventures raised $1 billion to invest in early- and later-stage crypto firms, AI startups and alternative assets, with plans to deploy the capital over two to three years.

Haun Ventures announced on Monday that it has raised $1 billion to fund early- and later-stage investments in crypto firms, artificial intelligence startups and alternative assets. The firm plans to deploy the capital over the next two to three years.

The new funds will target companies building infrastructure and products across digital assets and ventures that combine finance and AI. Haun Ventures intends to write seed and growth checks and to reserve capital for follow-on investments as portfolio companies scale.

Katie Haun, the firm's founder and managing partner, established Haun Ventures after serving as a prosecutor at the U.S. Department of Justice and holding roles on the Coinbase board and as a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz. The firm's portfolio includes infrastructure and analytics companies such as Fireblocks and Chainalysis, and blockchain projects including Aptos Labs. The firm recently participated in an $18 million financing for Squads, which is expanding its Altitude stablecoin platform.

The $1 billion raise follows a 2022 fundraising when Haun Ventures secured about $1.5 billion prior to a downturn in the crypto market. The firm pursued a similar $1 billion raise last year to establish two crypto-focused funds and had expected that round to close in June.

Haun Ventures did not disclose a full list of limited partners or the exact allocation between early- and later-stage vehicles. The firm’s stated timeline for deployment allows it to make initial investments and provide follow-on support over a two- to three-year period.
