Circle launches USDC Bridge for native cross-chain transfers

Circle launched a USDC Bridge to move native USDC directly between multiple blockchains without wrapping or proxy tokens.

Circle has launched the USDC Bridge, a tool that moves native USDC directly between multiple blockchain networks without converting the dollar-pegged token into wrapped or proxy versions. The Bridge routes transfers so recipients receive the original USDC on the destination chain.

The feature targets wallets, decentralized applications and centralized platforms that move liquidity across networks. Circle positioned the Bridge to support trading, lending, payments and on-chain settlement flows by enabling participants to keep native USDC where they need it.

Circle described the Bridge as a mechanism that preserves native USDC balances during cross-chain transfers, avoiding the minting or burning of wrapped tokens. The company did not publish a list of initial supported chains or full technical specifications in its announcement.

Developers and custodial platforms will be able to integrate the Bridge into wallets and infrastructure. Circle plans to publish documentation and integration guidance for partners building cross-chain flows around native USDC transfers.

USDC is a dollar-backed stablecoin issued by Circle and used across exchanges, decentralized finance platforms and payment systems. Stablecoins often exist on multiple blockchains, and moving liquidity between those networks typically requires wrapping, minting and burning tokens or relying on third-party bridges, which can add cost, delay and counterparty exposure.

Adoption of the Bridge will depend on integration by wallets, exchanges and decentralized applications. Market participants will evaluate whether the tool reduces costs and operational steps compared with existing solutions and whether it supports the chains and transaction volumes they require.
