Banks and crypto firms share spotlight

The conference lineup shows how traditional finance and crypto are converging, with traditional financial institutions joining crypto-native companies on stage. J.P. Morgan, BNP Paribas, Banco Santander, and BBVA executives will present alongside teams from Bitpanda, Galaxy, CoinFund, OKX, and Bullish. Asset management firms KKR and Bitwise Asset Management join blockchain protocols including Algorand in the speaker roster.

Victoria Gago, who co-founded EBC, highlighted the momentum:

We have seen an extraordinary increase in registrations and interest from exhibitors after the overwhelmingly positive feedback from our previous edition.

Daniel Salmeron, also a co-founder, emphasized the institutional presence:

The participation of so many traditional banks and financial institutions demonstrates their optimism about the future of crypto and digital assets.

Unprecedented networking program

Organizers have built a structured matchmaking system for 2025 that pairs attendees in one-on-one meetings. The program has already generated over 10,000 pre-arranged connections – the largest networking effort ever organized at a European blockchain event.

The system aims to maximize business outcomes by ensuring participants meet relevant contacts across the two-day schedule.

The conference agenda focuses on today’s key industry challenges: tokenization of traditional assets, stablecoin infrastructure development, AI integration in crypto applications, institutional ETF demand, blockchain scaling via layer-1 and layer-2 solutions, decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), restaking protocols, Web3 user experience improvements, and Bitcoin corporate treasury adoption.

Competition tracks for builders

Fifty European blockchain startups will compete in the third Start-up Battle, pitching their projects to conference attendees. A concurrent 48-hour hackathon runs parallel to the main program, drawing 200+ developers, 30+ mentors, and 20 competing teams working on new solutions.

Barcelona cultural program

Beyond conference sessions, attendees can participate in curated experiences showcasing Barcelona's culture. The social calendar includes a beachfront sunset gathering, an early-morning coastal run, guided wine tasting, and dining at Michelin-recognized restaurants.

October's timing places EBC alongside other Barcelona cultural events: the Sitges Film Festival, Salón Náutico maritime show, and CSIO Barcelona equestrian championships.
