Tether’s USDT Tops $100 Billion in On-Chain Transactions
USDT has recorded more than $100 billion in on-chain transaction volume across the blockchains where Tether issues tokens.
On-chain tracking shows USDT has recorded more than $100 billion in transaction volume across the blockchains where the token operates. The figure covers transfers and on-chain activity for USDT units issued by Tether Ltd.
The total sums activity on multiple token standards and networks, including Omni on Bitcoin, ERC-20 on Ethereum and TRC-20 on Tron. It reflects aggregate transactions across those chains rather than activity on a single ledger.
Transaction volume includes peer-to-peer transfers, exchange inflows and outflows, and smart-contract interactions where USDT is used as collateral, payment or liquidity. High-frequency trading and decentralized exchange activity contribute to the total.
Market participants use USDT for trading, liquidity provision, cross-border transfers and decentralized finance. Exchanges, trading desks, payment processors and decentralized applications commonly accept USDT as a medium of exchange.
Tether launched USDT in 2014 and has expanded issuance across several blockchains to enable faster or lower-cost transfers depending on the network used. Support on different chains lets users move USDT into Ethereum's smart-contract ecosystem or onto networks with lower fees.
The $100 billion figure measures on-chain movement and is separate from USDT's market capitalization or total supply. The number is a cumulative snapshot of transfers recorded on public ledgers.
Regulators and market observers monitor stablecoin flows and reserve practices. Tether has published information about its reserves and provided attestations intended to document the composition of backing assets.
On-chain totals will continue to be updated as USDT moves through exchanges, custodians and decentralized protocols.
