Spot Bitcoin ETFs Net $85.8M, End Five-Day Outflows

Spot bitcoin ETFs drew $85.8 million on Friday, ending a five-day outflow streak, while several ether-focused exchange-traded products recorded further net redemptions.

Spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted $85.8 million on Friday, ending a five-day streak of net outflows. At the same time, exchange-traded products tied to ether recorded additional net redemptions during the same session.

Data compiled by market flow trackers showed the $85.8 million as net new money into spot bitcoin ETFs for the Friday trading session, reversing earlier withdrawals from those products this week. Ether-focused funds logged outflows that reduced net assets in those products for the day.

The inflows into bitcoin-tracking funds were broad-based across several issuers. Redemptions from ether-linked products were spread among multiple exchange-traded products offering direct exposure to ether. Reported flow figures cover regular U.S. market hours for the Friday session.

Spot bitcoin ETFs hold bitcoin in custody and aim to mirror the token’s price. Ether-focused exchange-traded products hold ether or instruments tied to ether’s price. Net subscriptions and redemptions change the assets under management for each product, and fund managers adjust holdings to reflect those flows.

Changes in assets under management can occur from both investor flows and market price moves. Managers’ adjustments to subscriptions and redemptions can alter the amount of the underlying asset held by custodians for a given fund.

Friday’s figures closed a short period of withdrawals from spot bitcoin funds while extending redemptions for ether-linked offerings. Flow numbers reflect one trading day and can differ in subsequent sessions based on investor activity and market conditions.
