Ink shifts production to Optimism’s OP Enterprise, multiyear deal

Ink, a project incubated by Kraken, upgraded its production infrastructure to Optimism’s OP Enterprise Fully Managed under a multiyear infrastructure agreement.

The upgrade moves Ink’s production stack onto a commercial, hosted layer-2 service for Ethereum. OP Enterprise Fully Managed provides managed hosting, operational support, monitoring, maintenance and service-level agreements so an organization can run rollup-based applications without operating the underlying node and support systems.

Under the agreement, Optimism will operate node infrastructure, handle uptime monitoring and provide operational support. Ink will run its transaction processing and application stack on Optimism’s managed rollup environment while focusing on product development and user-facing features.

Optimism is a layer-2 network that uses optimistic rollup technology and the OP Stack, an open-source software stack for building rollups on Ethereum. OP Enterprise is the commercial suite that offers dedicated support, integration help and hosted deployments for business customers; the Fully Managed variant covers day-to-day infrastructure operations by Optimism’s team.

Ink began within Kraken’s incubation efforts. Kraken is a cryptocurrency exchange that runs trading and custody services and supports project development through internal teams and investments.

The companies described the agreement as multiyear, indicating a sustained operational relationship. No quotes were provided in the announcement.
